The opposition APRC has slammed President Adama Barrow-led government for being bias, describing the arrest of Abdoulie Saine to selective justice.
The former ruling party also urged the Barrow administration to be transparent and do away with ‘selective justice’, and ensure effective service deliveries are provided to all Gambians.
Fabakary Tombong Jatta, the interim leader of the party made the remarks at his compound in Tallinding over the weekend.
Despite APRC condemnation of Abdoulie Saine’s viral audio weeks ago, Jatta stated that such audios were also made by UDP supporters who were not arrested.
“We are all aware tribal sentiments in what Sapp groups were it emanates from, who were sympathizers of UDP but we haven’t heard of any arrest,” the former majority in Parliament Tombong Jatta pointed out.
He added: “The government should do away with selective justice; the government is mandated to protect all Gambians irrespective of party affiliations or tribe.”
He continued: “We are proud to say that we have impacted positively to the lives of Gambians irrespective of tribe, race or religion. I have not heard any criticism that APRC have not done anything for the country.”
Jatta further observed that the security of the country is worrying, adding that the country is faced with numerous insecurity challenges including, missing herd of cattle, arm robbery among others.
“Deportation of people, gambling houses, homosexuality and frequent strikes are results of unfulfilling promises and drilling income”, he pointed out.
