Ras Emmanuel, a Jamaican reggae Ambassador based in US is expected to be Gambia to launch his new album titled “That Day” on 16 November, 2018 at Moses Lodge Jarra Soma.
On 17 November Farafenni High School, on 24 November Basse Youth Center to be back by African Light Sound.
Ras told The Voice Vibes that: “Coming to Africa it is one of my biggest dream come true, I was told that Gambian love reggae, that is the reason I choose Gambia to launch “That Day” album to reason with the youths”
He commended Ebrima Jatta, alias DJ Mutaburaka, chief executive officer of African Light Sound, who is working with Paradise FM and TV in the Gambia for making the event possible. “So Gambia watch out of “That Day” album launching in Gambia,” he said.
About Ras
Ras Emmanuel a.k.a Nasir Gowdie, producer, song writer, and performer was born in Kingston Town, Jamaica in 1976. He grew up in the Parish of St. Catherine, Central Village.
Ras Emmanuel started his music career in the early 90’s and was discovered by the Legendary DJ I Roy who brought him to People’s Choice Studio in Spanish Town where he did is first single (Next Door to God).
Shortly after, Ras Emmanuel won a nomination on The Red Label contest. This event was significant in representing his community of St Catherine. He was backed by the Legendary Fab 5 Band.
Coming to the U.S in 1997, his mission was still to pursue his music career. Ras Emmanuel scored an opportunity to link with SS. Entertainment to do a string of singles.
He made his first hit song in NJ called (Loving Enemies) featuring his wife Queen Zebulun. “The Life Riddim” was produced by Ibo Cooper from the Third World Reggae Ambassador Band and Alfred Ibby Brissett out of Jamaica.

His biggest hit song so for is (Nuh send Nuh Guns to Jamaica) found on the Roots and Right All Star Album on the Fisherman label.
Ras Emmanuel went on to win “Song of The Year” in NJ, was voted a big tune, and also won the Radio Award on Roots FM 96.1 in Jamaica. Ras Emmanuel continues to put out more hit songs to add to his versatile flavor.
He collaborated with Jamaican singer, Dr. Love and scored another hit song called (I Know). To add to his string of hits, he continued to win many more awards, including New Jersey’s Artist of The Year, and song of the year.
He has toured with the famous Easy Star All-Stars Band to Europe, and Australia. To add to his colorful resume, he has also toured throughout the U.S.A.
