OJ Says AFPRC Junta ordered his Torture at Mile II Prison

The leader of People Progressive Party has said his torture at the State Central Prison Mile II was ordered by Sanna Sabally, late Sadibou Hydara, Edward Singhateh and Yankuba Touray, whom were both members of the AFPRC military junta.

Omar A Jallow added that he was tortured by 20 soldiers. “They asked them to beat me until I confess that I will not say anything again. Where was Yahya Jammeh? Was he part of it? No”. Amadou Omar Jallow, popularly known as (OJ) told a delegation of Foni foundation Ajamat who called on him and senior officials yesterday.

According to him, those who tortured him in his own compound were not Jolas but that were led by Sanna Sabally, adding that the person who showed them how to torture him was Batch Samba Jallow.

The Ajamat Foundation has a prominent presence in Foni and all communities that identify with the Ajamat society.

OJ pointed out that all Gambians are equal in the eye of the law, urging Gambians to be mindful of tribalism.

“The Gambia is bigger than any organisation or tribe that looks at the gathering in such a way that nobody can recognise who is a Jola, Wollof, Mandinka or Fula

He called Gambians to stop putting all blames on former president Yahya Jammeh, as he urged Gambians  let bygone be bygone and to learn how to  forget and forgive one another in the interest of national reconciliation.

He also said the purpose of the TRRC is defeated if it only focus on former president Yahya Jammeh, noting that he was not committing the atrocities alone

He said: “When I was tortured my own families were in government they were also in one way or the other accomplices of Jammeh. If we want to pay back we will destroy this country.

“We put this president here but the way we thought things will go, did not go that way. But those who put him there will work that out”, he noted.

Momodou Lamin Badjie, said the Ajamat Foundation was established in 2014, with a goals for development, and building of peace. He also said that the foundation comprises of 11 groups.

Duta Kamaso, stated that today Gambia needs development that demands aspires to move the country forward.
