Lion Boy, a reggae dancehall artiste has said he is set to launch his debut musical album on 31st December 2018 at Manjai Park.
Lion Boy, whose real name is George Kujabi, who started music in 2000, said he was motivated into music by John Zan and Elvis who are artist from Guinea Conakry.
The guest artists expected on the date include, Big Faa, Bere ente from Guinea Conakry, 300 Sparta, Musical Virus, Mad Dot, and many more.
Lion Boy, who also released his first mix tape title TALL BU YALLA TALL” in 2014, and second mix tape title “BABY I LIKE YOU” in 2018.
But according to him, he has numerous challenges like, financial resources to sponsor his singles, adding even shooting albums requires huge amount of money to effect.
“Even now I have two albums to shot, one video shooting cost D12, 000 which means shooting two will cost me D24, 000,” he said.
The 30 year-old-artist further called on both government and private companies in the country to support Gambian artists, adding they artists also contributes to the development of the country.
He expressed high expectation for his debut album, as he said has meet many local radio stations, and the state broadcaster, which gave him assurance to publicize his December 1 show.
Meanwhile, he also said his launching debut album is also on publicity in Senegal and Guinea Conakry and other countries across Africa.
However, he said his debut album is going to financed by “Lion Boy Movement”, a movement that he said is his movement.
Lion Boy said he came to be well known in 2010, which he said was mainly because he wasn’t very much focused on music.
He urged his fellow artists to be committed to their professions and never give up and give real message to the public, while urged companies to support Gambian artists for the development of the country.
