ML Foundation-The Gambia has inaugurated a lower Basic school in Brikama Nyambai in its quest to developing national education.
Momodou Manga, founder of the school said the project came through the support of his wife and partners in Netherlands, adding it is aim to enhance quality and free education in the community.
“Education is very important. I don’t have anyone to support in my education when I was a student; however, I don’t want that to be happened to other children in the society. That why I deem it necessary to found the great school and initiate this important project,” he said.
He also added that more projects are on the pipeline saying “I want travel to Netherlands to seek more funds from my development partners to develop the community”.
Liny Seamonsma, the mother of the foundation said ML foundation is not her first project in the country, noting that she has other projects such as empowering local fishermen by providing them with more fishing materials.
Saikou Darboe, a committee member commended the founder of the school and his partner for contributing on the development of the community by providing school for them.
“This will promote quality and free education for the young generation; however, I’m appealing the school committee to take the project seriously so as to have more developments from ML foundation for their community,” he said.
