Dingding Yiriwa Federation, a local partner to Child-fund the Gambia has over the weekend trained over 50 sponsored and enrolled cluster sponsor relations committees on their roles and responsibilities.
The training was aimed at strengthening sponsorship programs and capacity of the enrolled and sponsored families.
Alieu Mendy, the manager of Dingding Yiriwa federation said capacity building and sensitization of the clusters families about their roles and functions in sponsorship relations, will strengthen and supporting enrollment level at his federation and Childfund.
He urged the sponsor relation committees and parents to be active in responding to sponsorship improvement programs of children.
“This can in no small measure perform a very pivotal role in advancing the sponsorship welfare of their families,” he said.
He added: “I can tell you that it is your sole duty as sponsor relation committees in keeping the sponsorship welfare of your children.”

Meanwhile, he described the participation of youth to sponsorship as very vital, adding it will add additional comprehensive value to the duties of the sponsor relation committees.
Yusupha Jassey, chairperson of Sanyang site committee commended the federation for conducting a very important sponsor relation training for its cluster committee members.
“There are lots of other important functions and duties of the sponsor relation committees in keeping alive the welfare of the federation’s sponsorship agendas,” he said.
