NALA to Resurface before House Committee

The National Agency for Legal Aid, NALA is asked to reappear before the Public Enterprise Committee on the 22nd of December, 2018; following the inconvenient account reports.

Following the question-and-answer sessions, the NALA officials were asked to a stand-down consultation among themselves.

In which the officials agreed to resurface before the house committee on the 22nd of December, 2018.

“I don’t see any opposition to that. This committee allows NALA to submit its activity reports and financial statement for the year ended 31st December, 2015, and 31st December, 2016; by the 22nd of December, 2018,”Halifa Sallah, chair of the committee said.

However, Halifa Sallah further said that NALA has submitted their activity reports.

“The financial statement for the year ended 31st of December, 2015, and 31st of December, 2016, at least let us take it by the 22nd of December, 2018; as the latest,” he said.

Neneh MC Cham, the chairperson of NALA said: “We had consultation with the officers from the Audit Office and that we can maintain the 22nd December, 2018, to appear before the committee. We hope the accounts will be submitted by then and we will be ready to appear on that day December 22, 2018, and we apologies for any inconveniences.”
