The Ministry of Finance and Economics Affairs yesterday commenced two-day national consultation with the civil society organisations with its chief goal to create awareness on Public Finance Monitory reform of the Barrow-led government.
Lamin Camara, the permanent secretary of the Finance Ministry said government is on the plan to include enterprise management, budget monitory and evaluation of the MDS
According to him, these will help to identify the risks and how to mitigate, and the evaluation government is making.
“The reform that have been or planed to be undertaking by the government or through the PFM reform include, introducing enterprise management, budget monitory and evaluation of the MDS,” he said.
He added: “For anything we are doing now taking about reform must also be consistent we have plan for the next cycle 2018-2021.”
He described the consultation forum as significant that it is “to revisit the functions and roles played by the key stakeholders of reforms.”
Mr. Camara further commended the civil society organisations for their efforts in complementing government effort to national development.
