Alliance for Patriotic Re-Orientation and Construction (APRC) will tomorrow hold its biannual congress in Bwiam, Foni Kansala, the party officials confirmed.
This will the first congress since its party chairman Yahya Jammeh went into exile in 2017.
In an exclusive interview with The Voice, Dodou Jah, deputy public relation officer for APRC said over six hundreds delegates are expected to grace congress.
Mr. Jah said despite having proper structure some of his party members switch allegiance to other parties, saying this congress will enable them know where the loyalties of the party’s regional chairperson’s is.
“On that notes we are restructuring the party. When they [the chairpersons] attend the congress we will know they are loyal but if they fail to come, we will contact them to verify and when we find that they left the positions, definitely we will replace them,” he said.
The congress will cover the entire managerial positions ranging from the national president to the substructure, he said.
He urged APRC supporters to maintain peace and desist from violence in the country, adding let them follow national development.
He said many people taught APRC will die but that it is getting strong saying this move will motivate many to join them.
According to him, he is not expecting much competition in congress because presently, there is few or no person is willing to challenge his or her fellow in the executive, adding “because I haven’t received any application that is vying for a position yet.”
