The Amir of the Ahmadiyaa Muslim Jama’at in the Gambia has called on parents to impart god moral in their children saying they should serve as role models to their children.
The convergence brought together over two hundred elder men aged forty and above across the country.
Baba F Trawally made the call during presiding over the closing ceremony of a two day annual national conference at Baitul Salam Mosque in Tallinding.
“The moral and spiritual training of our younger generation is a huge responsibility on our shoulders and as elders. We have undergone through such trainings and we must not relent in our efforts to pass the baton to our children so that tomorrow they can serve the society and the nation with merits,” he said.
He described training children as enormous and difficult due to the prevailing conditions of the society, adding training children is never achieved by force but through good advice and constantly praying for them.
The Amir Trawally also reminded the people about the significant of prayers, saying it is the link between a person and God.
He said: “The Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) categorically emphasized the importance of Salat and even stated that there is no religion without Salat, it is purely the essence of religion.”
He added: “Imam Madhi (AS) says the members of the Jama’at should observed prayers with such concentration as they were seeing Allah with their naked eyes.”
He further indicated that by performing prayers in their respective times regularly prevents a believer from trials and tribulations.
On Salat, Amir Sahib continued should not only be based on the five daily obligatory prayers but also the constant observance of pre down or Tahajjud prayers. as it leads a person to Allah The Al Mighty.
Amir called on the elders to join him in silent prayers so that peace and stability will continue raining in our beautiful motherland The Gambia and the entire human race in general.
