Sanyang Lower Basic School has inaugurated its new toilets twelve rooms at a tune of over half a million dalasi, donated Belgian philanthropist Uwe Roever and the Associates.
The toilets would help provide access to a better sanitation and conducive learning environment for the pupils and their teachers, the school authorities said.
Lamin Kujabi, a head teacher of the school described the inauguration of the toilets saying it will assist in the provision of a clean and good sanitation for school children.
“It will also in addition allow them with a save and viable learning environment that will as well avoid the overcrowding of students in using the toilets,” he said
He added: “Today’s inauguration of the school toilets we are witnessing right now will provide access and a sound environmental sanitation for both the students and their teachers also not only limited to that but will as well avoid the congestion of students per toilet for saving time in area of education.”
Lamin Manneh, a cluster monitor for Banyaka cluster in Kombo South district said will help in complementing the endeavors of governments to quality and better education for children.
He said: “In order to acquire a free sound mind set as a child in receiving education in schools necessary learning environment and materials should be provided for the attainment of a quality education in a particular country.”
“It is in the policies of the education ministry that learner welfare and a sound learning environment have to be attain in making sure that quality and productive education is achieve as a ministry. So I think this is one of the concern areas which our partners from Belgium have put their efforts in adding to government’s efforts on better education,” he added.
