Siffoe LBS celebrates winning Stars 2 Award Certificate presentation

Siffoe Lower Basic School over the weekend celebrated their winning Star 2 Award certificate presentation held at the school ground.

The winning Star 2 Award certificate competition to the deserving Lower Basic School in the country is a program designed and organized by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to assess and measure outstanding performance of the National Assessment Test results including efforts of students and general performance of the particular school management system.

The School Management Committee Chairman, Mr. Lamin E. Camara thanked the entire School Administration and Staff for tirelessly working hard which lead to the winning of the Star 2 Award competition.

He recommended the school’s partners such as GAMRUPA Gambia Chapter and Children without Borders for their contribution in creating conducive learning atmosphere for the students and their teachers.

“I am delighted to celebrate not only the contribution of the staff and students but also to recognized the education standard of the school set by all the past head teachers and their staff,” he said

Sunkary G. Sanyang, head mistress of the school recognized the contribution of her entire staff and students in winning the Star 2 Award certificate competition.

She advised the students to take the award as a special opportunity in setting their life time goals of becoming brighter and successful in the near future.

“The award winning ceremony is an indication of the student’s tremendous achievement and meaningful performance towards their school curriculum and academic struggles.”

West Coast Regional Governor, Bakary Sanyang reminded both students and staff of the School about the importance of education. He said that for a nation to develop economically and achieved her youth employment target; education must be given a priority.

He believed that the award winning indicates the readiness of his region’s attitudes towards the embracement of education and national development.

“The celebration is not only for Siffoe Lower Basic School but the entire region as the winning title is finally set to be celebrated for ever in the region for years to come. Nevertheless, he emphasized here that the celebration today would be continued at all times.”
