The 23 year old Ismaila was born and brought up in the historic Island of Banjul, the capital city of The Gambia from a humble Singhateh kunda family. Hard work and honesty being his slogan, it wasn’t a surprise to many seeing him on the track of his expensive dreams. With passion and commitments shown during his short era at the youth academy, teenager Ismaila Singhateh was later promoted to the senior Wallidan FC where he began to exhibits his skills in the continent and became a player in The Gambia’s First Division League that everyone want to watch.
He recorded ample caps and scored numerous goals and was among the exciting young athletes being in the book of 15 championship titles and 24 cup title won. 39 honored in all Wallidan’s won.
News monitored from The Voice Sports continued and has it that, Ismaila Singhateh born and raised in The Gambia is currently chasing his dreams to play elite football in Europe. Singhateh who left Wallidan FC in 2005 is presently in Australia searching for greener pasture into football.
History about Wallidan FC (Blue Boys Si) at home
Wallidan FC as fondly calls “Blue Boys Si” is a Banjul and Baku based club side. The club was founded after Gambian Independence in 1969. Not long after, the club became registered and play in the division in Gambian football, the GFF formerly GFA First Division League.
Two years after their existence, 1970 and 1971, the club won two consecutive championship titles before replicated same in 2002 and 2015. Their recent was in 2008 where they became the masters of Gambian Cup since 1974. Currently, Wallidan is the most decorated team in The Gambia’s football history.
At the continental leve
In The Gambia, Wallidan FC competed than any other club at the continental level. Their first was back in 1975 CAF Cup Winner’s Cup where they lost to Dakar’s ASC Jeanne d’Arc in the Senegambian derby.
They returned in 1977 and lost to Espoirs Nouakchott and again in 1979 but lost 4-5 in the penalty post match shootout. Wallidan’s first Championship appearance was in 1978 and advanced up to the first round, their greatest.
