At least fifty drivers from The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) have been oriented to traffic regulations at Senegambia Beach Hotel over the weekend.
The orientation reminded the drivers their roles and responsibilities in ensuring effective services delivery at their daily work.
In his official opening remark, the Commissioner General GRA Yankuba Darboe described as an importance to the drivers of the Institution, adding that it would help the drivers to know more about their roles and responsibilities.
“Drivers are key element in any institution, therefore GRA Management prudent necessary to empower its drivers through this kind of interactive orientation that will provide them the opportunity to interact and discuss issues of concerns and carved the way forward to avoid rampant Accident,” he said.
He reaffirmed his Institution continues commitment to supporting its drivers to addressing the plights of the drivers, saying GRA will continue to advise the drivers to be mind of their roles and responsibility.
GRA drivers will continue to benefits in promotion and all other benefits within the institution, he said.
For her part Yassin Joof- Jawo, a transport officer at GRA commended the drivers for their positive response to the orientation.
According to her, the orientation was geared towards empowering GRA drivers to better carry out their duties in an effective manner and avoid frequent.
She added that the drivers are so important that consideration for GRA drivers is always a priority.
She also seized the opportunity to commend the Commissioner General for his foresight in ensuring that GRA drivers attend this kind of refresher orientation forum. She also by extension commended the Gambia police force through the traffic unit for the lecture rendered to GRA drivers.
