Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) in Banjul has received food items from Star GSM Communication, Gambia Protective Association, and Global Electrical.
The items include 10 bags of 50Kg rice, 5 bags of Onions, and 5 gallons of cooking oil.
Representing the chief executive officer at the hospital, Muhammad Lamin Jammeh, the Public Relation Officer at the hospital expressed gratitude to the donors especially Star GSM Communication.
“This is not the first time of seeing Star GSM Communication coming to this hospital and giving their helping hands to the patients, more particularly to the hospital,” he said.
He assured that his hospital will distribute the items to the targeted beneficiaries at the wards and appealed that more of such should come from the donors.
Lamin Kaba, the CEO of Star GSM Communication, said the donation came as a result of his company’s aim to complementing government’s efforts to National Health Service.
He stated that: “This will reduce the burden on Government, when it comes to supply of food items to patients in the Hospital, this is why we are here to donate these food items to supplement the supply to the hospital.”
He assured his company’s continue support to the hospital, adding that the hospital belongs to Gambians.
However, he revealed that the plan to hosting blood donor day at Westfield Monument in January 2019, and assured their donation of blood to the hospital.
