The residents of Farato – Bojang Kunda in the West Coast Region of The Gambia have expressed their dissatisfaction over the poor road condition that links the residents to the highway.
Yankuba Jarju, a Taxi driver said that they faced a lot of challenges to transport their passengers from their destination to the market because of the bad road condition.
“I take my car to the mechanic every three days for maintenance and I will spend a lot of money before it will get back to the normal service,’’ he noted.
He added that they have raised this road issue among themselves in other to face the authority concerned so that they can find a possible solution to the problem.
Saidou Badjie, a native of Bojang Kunda said, during the raining season the said residents find it difficult to have access to the market or the main highway because even the taxi drivers would not use the road due to its poor condition.
Mr. Badjie said that the Councilor of the ward promise to construct the road if he was elected to the office but yet still we have not seen anything from him and he has never visit the place to know the condition of the road in other to find the possible solution to the problem.
Badjie calls on the government to look at the issue so that they can live in a peaceful environment.
Bakary Colley noted that the poor road condition affects their daily activities because they normally get to their work place very late.
