The Janjanbureh Area Council, JAC has Council finally handed over the Janjanbureh Youth Center to the youth of Central River Region after long years tussle on 15th January, 2019.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the Chief of Janjanbureh, Bakary Jam Jawo stated his utmost happiness to this event and urges the young people to make good use of the center.
Samba Leigh, chief executive officer of JAC explained that 5.5 million Dalasi was spent in the construction of the center.
He challenged the youth to form a solid management team to manage the center to the best interest of the young people of CRR.
CEO Leigh concluded that the Janjanbureh Area Council will continue to support youth led programs.
Dembo Kambi, Chairman of National Youth Council, thanked the Governor of CRR and all other stakeholders that play key role towards this event.
He assured the Area council and others that the center will become a center of excellence and development hub for the youth.
Sulayman Barry, Governor of Central River Region, in his speech said the young people have a key role to play in the national development agendas.
He encourage the youth to utilize the center and make it a resource center. He challenge YEP and NYC to make the center as educational resource center.
Omar Jammeh, Chairperson of Regional Youth Committee said the center will indeed be a place where the young people will be engage positively and urge that it be an example in the country.
