Veteran Customs Manager bag ‘Patriotic Personality Award’

Alhagie K. Mbye, Customs Manager Seaport Operations received “Patriotic Personality Award” 2019, from the League of African Development students (LEADS) Based in Ghana, Nigeria recently.

Mbye, a veteran custom officer is responsible of Customs Manager Seaport Operations in The Gambia. The presentation was attended by staff of Customs Seaport Operation and member of the LEADs Africa delegate and was held at his office in Banjul.

Speaking at the presentation the Head of Advocacy of  LEADS Africa  for the conferment of LEADS-Africa patriotic Personality Awards; Mr. Ochekwu Morgan Ochech explained  the league of African Development students (LEADS) is the umbrella  body for all democratic  students Unions in Africa which started  since 1985 at the Bayero University, Kano (Nigeria) with the objectives of sensitizing her members on the Development Best practices, now present  in over 10 countries of Africa such as countries of Africa such as Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Sudan , Rwanda, Uganda, cote D, Ivorie , Zambia , Botswana, Cameroun, Zimbabwe, Burundi and Egypt.

He added that:  “In doing this, we seek to find ourselves Role  Models , outstanding Institution  and Mentors in Life as we found in the operations office of the Banjul  Seaports of republic of The Gambia and her manager- Mr. Alhagie K. Mbye , an erudite and proven Authority  in Africa civil service space per excellence , an erudite and committed customs officer, consummate corporate leader with the midas touch of excellence , a Spartan Advocate for a modern Africa, Recipient of very many Awards and Recognitions, Distinguished Philanthropic patriots that  inspires peoples of Africa via various community and Human capacity development philanthropic deeds, cerebral commenter and erudite Resource person on topical issues of Pan-Africa and Global importance ,a passionate Nation Builder and an outstanding Patriot per excellence”

He urged civil servants, Board and Management of the Gambian Revenue Authority, and peoples of Africa to continue to give their unalloyed and pragmatic support to the leadership and efforts of Mr. Alhagie K. Mbye in this office, as things will always get better and better.

Ansumana B. Bojang,  secretary General for Press and information All Africa students Union which is an international organization under the African Union under the supervision of the ministry of foreign affair , and regional integration in Ghana Accra. He said the purpose of presenting the certificate to Mr. Alhagie K. Mbye is in recognition to his selfless services to the nation.

He said for those students that were privilege to study with him at the university of the Gambia , can  attest  to that Mr. Mbye was a selfless student who has gone beyond student-teachers relationship with all his commitment and busy schedule Mr. Mbye still manage to graduate with a excellence result due his positive attitude .

In receiving his personal Award and his office Award in recognition of Mr. Mbye   thank the Almighty Allah for his him the strength and the ability to support humanity specially his colleagues at the University of The Gambia.

He said it was part of his dream to support some of the students at the UTG considering the trauma they were undergone.

He assured LEADs of his continue unflinching support whenever the need arises. He also seized the opportunity to thank the LEADS Africa students for choosing him among many in the forefront and also by extension thanked his staff for their commitment and professionalism.
