By Fatoumatta Gassama

Yankuba Colley, National Mobilliser of Alliance for Patriotic Re-Orientation and Construction (APRC) has said that since the Coalition government came to power there is high rate in prices of commodities in the markets across the country.

According to him, since the Barrow government came to power,  the market places has been quite hard in such a way that tilapia fish which was then the lowest price in the market has become a hot cake with high price because of the demand and its low supplied talk less of catfish, meat and among other ingredience.

He made the remarks at the APRC rally at Brikama in the West Coast Region on Saturday the 26th January, 2019.

He then added that bag of rice, sugar, onion is on the increase day by day and that the government is not taking any measures towards that issue.

Colley, a former Mayor of Kanifing Municipality explained that everything about the coalition is expensive even the National I’D Card, women of the country are not empowered and they find it difficult to sustain their family.

He urges the APRC militant to be committed and loyal to the party and no one should be brainwashed because there are new parties coming up, and notwithstanding they are looking for APRC stronghold places to build boreholes through that initiation, if they followed them Jammeh will come back.

“How can you bring someone you don’t like talk less of his party that APRC stand alone and that they are not together with any political party and that APRC will form the next government again,” Colley told the crowd.

He then told the crowd that everything beautiful in this country is built by APRC and all the good things of infrastructures are works done by APRC. However, they will work to destroy all what APRC have worked for, noting that the Senegambia Bridge was initiated by ex-president Jammeh and not the Coalition government because he and the former Vice President Isatou Njie Saidy and Babou Gaye Sonko with others laid the foundation stone of the Trans-Gambia Bridge.

He urged the Coalition government to say what they have worked and can work for the Gambia populace but not what Jammeh has already worked for them. He then cited that the Sukuta-Jambanjelly Road was constructed by Jammeh and also Laminkoto-Passamas Road was also built by Jammeh. Therefore, let the Coalition tells the truth to the people.
