Manchester defeated Monaco in a penalty shot out to clinched Sukuta Youths and Sports Association’s knockout trophy with a cash price of 20,000 Dalasi on Saturday.
In a match that Manchester enjoyed 58% of the ball possession compared to Monaco’s 48%, it was the Manchester that walked away with trophy as well as the better chance of making it out of the final.
The well attended final, Monaco took the early lead in three minutes of played through Gibril Wally, while Manchester Sarjo Jobarteh equalized in the fourth minutes and both goals was scored in the first half. The first half ended in a 1-1 with well displaced from both team.
However, in the second half both teams came all out, but all side defended and controlled the game.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw and the game went straight into penalty shot out. Manchester scored all five shots while Monaco scored four and misplaced one.
Manchester was awarded the trophy and cash price of 20,000 Dalasi while Monaco went home with 15,000 Dalasi runner-up.
