Sitokoto Kassama, Councillor for Salikenni Ward Central Badibou North Bank Region recently donated two water boreholes to Kerr Pateh and Doobo.
The project came as results of challenges to access to the drinkable water in the villages as inhabitants were using horses to fetch water some miles away. Kassama underscored the significant of drinking water, noting that 75 percent human body is water.
Councillor Kassama called on central government to extend development to the urban areas, pointing that there is certain villages in the country that have been left outside of national development since the first, second and third republics.
He pointed out that local government authorities cannot undertake or implement development without the support from the central government as all national projects is founded and implemented by government.
Mr. Kassama advised the two villages to take good care of the boreholes and make the best use of it for the betterment of the communities.
Aji Mam Busu Njie, Doboo central Badibou commended Council Sitokoto Kassama for the initiative on behalf of Doboo, saying that the need for clean drinking water for the village was a distress.
Speaking on behalf of Kerr Pateh village, Yassing recalled the constrained in fetching water for domestic use.
