The Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation (SSHFC) has disclosed that pensioners with effective yesterday 21st February, 2019 will benefit from payment increment and 13 months drawbacks, The Voice Newspaper Reports.
According to source, the development under the leadership of Managing Director Muhammed Manjang will wipes out tears of the pensioners while SSHFC strategic objective is to provide social protection to its pensioner’s welfare and wellbeing as the most top priority.
It could be recalled that the last increment of pensioners was in 2011 irrespective of the continued rise in inflation and cost of living.
“SSHFC Management in consultation with the board of directors informs Gambians that there is a pension increment and also payment of pension drawbacks retrospective of 1st January 2018 to all its active pensioners,” the Management announced yesterday.
Meanwhile, in this regards SSHFC pensioners would receive their pensions for the month of February, 2019 together with pension drawbacks of 13 months, from January, 2018 to January, 2019 with immediate effect from Thursday 21st of February, 2019.
The statement further reveals that pensioners who receive pensions through the bank, their pensions and drawbacks will be paid into their respective accounts, while those who receive their pensions at designated areas in different regions of the country will be paid in their usual manner.
