Child fund Alumni Association yesterday concluded a three days training on leadership, role for Child Fund’s alumni in operation, good quality communication skills, roles of youth and child protection at the Child Fund office in Brikama.
Topics discussed during the training include leadership, importance of media and its impact in the 21st, century, key roles of national alumni as an affiliated body to Child Fund in child protection areas, resource mobilization, amongst others
Hon. Alieu K Darboe, public relation officer of the association in his introductory remarks describes the training as worthy as it benefit the executive a better skills to do their work.
Alassana Badjie, chairman of the association, thanked the members in their drive in serving humanity. “We are today committed than ever in working for the progress of our people, “he said.
He noted that the training is yet another mile stone achievement towards the advancement of the association saying that it is incumbent on the participants to be very active after the training.
Eddie Bah, federation manager, Foni Ding-Ding, who also doubles as an executive member of Network for the Development of Children and Youth (NODCY), lauded the alumni for their foresight, commitment in working with both Child Fund and local partners.
He said since Child Fund and partners are a child protection agency, they would continue working with communities at all times.
Nfamara Darboe, Child Fund communication and sponsorship manager, said since the inception of Child Funs in 1984, it has been working with communities in order to promote the livelihood of the people’s at all categories.
“We have been supporting communities in the areas of education, health, child protection, youth empowerment, women and community supports as well, all geared to promote their welfares. Darboe further urged the association to be creative and come up with plans that can boost their morals and of benefit to the communities working with child fund The Gambia and partners,” he said.
