FedEx cares, a Spanish none governmental organization in partnership with Association of Immigrant Malgrant De Mar- Gambia and Catalunya Gambia Foundation has donated various materials to help Gambian children’s, youth and women through their Gambian counterpart.
The donated materials include, learning materials, children’s toys, trophy cups and football jerseys, at least a thousand children across the country.
Speaking to journalists at Buffa Zone after the ceremony, Yaya Danso chairman of both Catalunya -Gambia Foundation and Association of Immigrant Malgrant De Mar- Gambia, expressed sense of delight to the help from his partner organizations in Spain and hope for the continuation of such from them.
Mr. Danso said it will help children in their education and that some thousands kids are to benefit from the donation across the country, adding it will cover the seven administrative districts of Upper River Region.
Representing ‘Ya Awa’ football team in Fajikunda Bajonkoto a beneficiary, Yunusa Sambou said: “I feel excited because this support from nongovernmental organization, we are very glad and hope it continue. This has brought a very great motivation in the team, going to bring unity in the team and motivation.”
“So that is why we are collaborating and work together any project that is giving to us from our counterparts in Spain we make sure it is put in into good use and the beneficiaries benefit in the right way,” Tumani Danjo secretary to the Associations said.
Aja Amie Sonko, vice chair Catalonian Gambia Foundation also expressed to the donation delight and added that the donated materials will be distributed across the country through the sub branches of the associations.
Mrs. Sonko said the donation would help many children’s in their education and hope for the continuation of such magnificent gestures from their counterparts in Spain.
