The public is hereby informed that His Excellency, Mr. Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia, acting under section 88 1(b) of the 1997 Constitution, has nominated Mr. Foday Gassama as National Assembly Member with effect from Monday, 4th March, 2019. Mr. Gassama replaced Honourable Kumba Jaiteh as nominated member of the National Assembly.
Gassama has served as West Coast Regional Youth Coordinator for United Democratic Party, UDP, and was arrested and faced persecution. He was later freed by Brikama Magistrate Court. He is accused of being a member of the President Barrow Youths for National Development.
Gassama, a vocal young politician, always maintains his loyal membership of the UDP, but supporting the agenda of President Adama Barrow.
