Gambian Afromanding singer Bro. K singer has release a new video entitled ‘A Balefa Learata’ (translation: Very sorrowful). The title refers to youths going to Europe through illegal migration.
According to him, the song explains the constraints and trauma faces by youths on the illegal migration to Europe. He said the country has lost many valuable souls through the journey to Europe, where they head to in their need to search for a better life.
He explained that the video message will discourage lots of youths who want to embark on the journey.
“We will remember all those Gambia youths and [those from] other countries who lost their lives in seeking green pasture,” he said Sam, Ceesay said the video is very educative and sorrowful.
Muhammad Juwara, describe the video as a masterpiece and suggest for remix of the video by adding some Libyan languages in it.
About Biography
Born on 11 November 1990, Bro K (real name Sulayman Singhateh) is Gambian Afromanding artist. He began his music career in 2010 and released his first single entitled ‘Sunkutoo’ (2011). That same year, he signed his music to Shyboy Entertainment studio.
In 2013, he released his debut mixtape entitled ‘Kumakeso’. He is one of the popular artists in the country renowned for his staunch stance and hymns against awful practices in the society.
In one of his songs ‘Mbenyokono’, he advocate for people to come together despite tribe and language differences.
In 2015, he launched a single entitled ‘ABalefa Learata’ (Very sorrowful) dedicated to illegal African youths living in Europe. Some of his hit singles are ‘Sunkutoo’ (Girl), ‘Mbenyokono’ (we are together), ‘Lenjengoo’ (a Mandinka cultural dance), ‘Futuu’ (Marriage), ‘Haako’ (Yes) and ‘Wuliyaafola’ (Liar). As of March 2016, he was working on his debut album.
In March, 2018 he host a concert called “Dokuwo Lafaa’ concert is a song which he release that talks about social issues affecting the growth of the society.
He called on all and sundry come together and work for the betterment of the country that is the concept of this ‘Dokuwo Lafaa’ concert”
He explained after so many years of stagnation it is now high time of all to come together and start moving to make Gambia great again that is the lyrics in the song.
“Election has passed lot of promises and expectations were made so it now time for real focus as unnecessary noise will not take us anywhere, as an artist this where I want to preach to people to come together and work in unison for Gambia for all,” the Afromanding sensational said.
