Rotary Clubs in The Gambia to Host 6th Rotary District 9101 Assembly and Conference

An estimated 600 representatives of 80 Rotary clubs in 10 West African Countries will from the 19th to 23rd March 2019, converge in Banjul for the 6th edition of the Rotary District 9101 Assembly and Conference (DAC).

The event, hosted by District Governor Akiladi J Allen of The Gambia, will be attended by a representative of the President of Rotary International (RI) and Past District Governors.

The DAC is an annual event hosted by the incumbent District Governor.  Over the 5 day period delegates and elected officers will receive training on key policy and operational matters,  consider the district budget for the year 2019-2020 and attend a two day conference on the theme Be The Inspiration.”

Mr. Abdoulie Touray of Sahel Investments will be the main speaker at the conference to which, representatives of key government institutions, community leaders and non-governmental organizations will be invited.

The 6th DAC is the first such event to be hosted in The Gambia in the 39 years of Rotary activity in the country.  Members of the five active clubs of Banjul, Fajara, Brusubi, Bijilo and Kotu are involved in the organization of the event.

The Rotary Clubs in The Gambia seek the support of their partners to provide the required assistance to ensure this event becomes a successful conference.

District 9101 comprises of 1800 Rotarians from 79 clubs in Burkina Faso, Cote D’Ivoire, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Cape Verde, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and The Gambia.
