Alieu K Darboe Councillor Kembujeh Ward, West Coast Region, yesterday donated sanitary items to the Brikama health center’s maternity, through his foundation.
The donated items includes brooms, bleaches, soaps, a packet of Omo, buckets, cleansing materials, towels, brushes worth’s D11,500
Darboe who doubles as the CEO of the foundation noted that he was delighted to support the needy and he also decided made the donation on his birthday as he organised a charity event to support the cost.
According to him supporting healthily environment or support the needy are his primary concern, saying that health is everyone’s business.
He also said despite he is elected to serve the interests of his people irrespective of tribe, race. colour and political affiliations the items donated is on behalf of his foundation.
Dr Mido Kanteh, head of the Brikama maternity ward, commended Darboe for donation and patriotism noting that if all emulate the Councillor/CEO the facility would have reached at a level which would be very encouraging.
Ansu BO Nyassi, Councillor for Nyambai Ward, described Darboe as a great person with love and respect for all saying that the donation is not a surprised to him.
Yuauoha Colley, Jali Batch Conteh, Binta Touray all echoed similar remarks, while thanking Honorable Darboe for his good gesture and initiative.
In the same development, similar donation is expected to be extended to the Gunjur health center.
Certificates were presented to groups and individuals in recognition of their support towards the success of the charity event
