Amie Jatta Extend magnanimity to Bijankerr Landlady

The former lady Councilor for Bundung, Aja Amie Jatta extended her magnanimity to landlady at Bundung Bijankerr by undertaking the fencing of her compound which her compound fence share the same fence with Bundung Bijankerr graveyard.

She commended the two concern neighbors to the landlady, (Kaddy Saidy) in names of Awa Baldeh and Isatou Jallow who secretly appealed to her about the need to come to the aid of Kaddy Saidy.

“The two lady informed me that some part of Kaddy’s fence which she share same fence with the graveyard is unfence, even when people do go for burial, some will intrude her compound to have access to the graveyard instead of taking the graveyard main gate,” Amie Jatta explained.

Quizzed on what motivated to her to undertake such a humanitarian gesture, Jatta noted that, it was because of Awa Baldeh and Isatou Jallow, she decided to look for fund and fence Kaddy Saidy’s compound so as to stop intruders especially animals intruding into her compound to the graveyard.

Amie praised all those who contributed to the fencing of Kaddy’s compound more especially, Director, Women’s Bureau, Aja Fanta Bai Secka for providing bags of cement among others.

Former Director, Women’s Bureau, Aja Binta Sidibeh-Jammeh, described Aja Amie Jatta’s move as something Islamic on the fact that there are many other  vulnerable landladies like Kaddy Saidy living within the communities that are really struggling to make the ends meet of their family’s daily meal.

She, however, called on the general public to join Aja Amie Jatta and Bundung Six Junction Ward, Councilor, Sulayman Jammeh in their noble cause in a bid to reach out to the needy especially women folk either in kind or in cash.

She called on her fellow women in the country to be always supportive to their fellow women folk by emulating former Councilor, Aja Amie Jatta’s good move.

According to her, fencing will not only safe Kaddy Saidy’s compound alone but will also protect the graveyard from intruders entering inside.

Councilor, Bundung Six Junction Ward, Sulayman Jammeh described Aja Amie Jatta as patriotic citizen whose contribution towards to the development of Bundung cannot go unnoticed.

Jammeh sent his thanks to all those who participated during the work at the site, especially the neighbors, council of elders, members of Bundung Contestant Councilors Association (BCCA) under the leadership of the BCCA’s Vice President, Alhjie Abubacarr Sillah, youth, women and others.

The beneficiary of the initiative, Kaddy Saidy on behalf of her family, expressed her deep gratitude to Awa Baldeh and Isatou Jallow who approached Aja Amie Jatta for the fencing.

“I can’t pay all of you for this wonderful gesture, it is only Allah the Almighty that can reward whoever participated in the success of the initiative and May He (Allah the Almighty) shower His blessing to all of you,” Saidy said.

Others who spoke at the event were: Fatou Ceesay on behalf of Director, Women’s Bureau, Aja Fanta Bai Secka, President, Senegalo-Gambia Women Federation, Ndey Awa Khan, Lai Sanyang, Yasin Jobe and Alhagie Abubakarr Sillah.
