An Association of Fula ethnic group in The Gambia call, ‘Tabital Pulaagu Mbo Gambia ‘last Wednesday held a press conference in Brikama to update its members on the ramification of its nationwide tour.
Last month, the Association toured the country to discuss with Gambians on the aims and objectives of the Association in addressing the challenges faced by the association and means of improving it.
Tabital Pulaagu, which means to sustain the Fulani ethnic group and their cultural heritage in the Fulani dialect.
Seedy Dem, newly elected president of the Association said: “Tabital Pulaagu Mbo Gambia is established to bring Gambian Fula’s together and the country at large. It is not established to create division among the people of the country.”
Mr. Dem said the Association is apolitical and that everybody especially Gambians are invited in the Association despite their political and religious differences.
He called on his tribe men and women to unite under one umbrella and contribute immensely to the national development of the country.
He also said the Association would help in eradicating ignorance among many Gambians especially women whom many haven’t have the opportunity to go to school and have little access to knowing what is happening around the world.
Alieu Jallow, public relations officer of the Association, said the Association was establish on the pillars of peace and progress based on the principle of respect and value in country.
He sought help from Gambian media to disseminate the information gathered throughout the nationwide tour by the Association for better understanding to the Gambians.
Fatou Kandeh, a member, said the Association would help immensely to developing women’s of the country, as she said the women are the breeders of the world.
