Hon. Ousman Sillah, National Assembly member for Banjul North has stressed that prices of basic commodities in the markets are sky rocking.
He appeals to the government of the Gambia to find a solution in the best interest of the nation and well-being of the people.
Sillah, made the observation during an adjournment debate of the National Assembly in Banju on Monday.
Hon. Sidia Jatta, Member for Wuli West, said that road construction must be strategic and wherever there is a health facility that road is strategic and it is essential to the people.
Hon. Alfusainey Ceesay, National Assembly member for Sami calls on his colleagues to unite and work for the best interest of Gambians who voted them to the parliament, noting that their concerns those should be consider before individual interest.
Ceesay, called for decentralization of issuing identity cards in the country because Gambians are suffering to get their national document and people are traveling from Basse to Serekunda for identity cards.
“I think this is the right moment for the government to provide the solution of issuing the identity cards to Gambians in their various areas,” he noted.
Hon. Momodou L. Sanneh, deputy speaker of the national assembly noted that then AFPRC used power to rule the country by seizing all the properties belongs to the people that worked in the PPP regime.
He pointed out that those days have gone and this is a new democratic government which is own by Gambian, noting that there is a need for consultation with Ministry of Justice return those to properties to their rightful owners.
