Duo pleaded not guilty to ‘Stealing’, ‘Conspiracy’

Dodou Camara and Aja Sidibeh, have pleaded not guilty to  two counts of   ‘conspiracy to commit  felony’ and ‘stealing’ before Magistrate SB Joof of the Kanifing Magistrate’s Court on 15th April, 2019

When the case was call Sergeant 3577 Salimina Kebbeh announced his representation for Inspector General of police (IGP) while Camara and Sidibeh were not represented by  legal counsel.

In his testimony Babucarr Jatta, prosecution witness one,  said that he discussed  about a car issue with Dodou Camara but they did not  agreed in terms, adding that he asked Dodou if he is the owner of the car which he replied in positive.

He told the court that Dodou earlier informed that he had a fight with his brother and took a pestle and break the glass of the car.

Jatta further told the court he paid D14, 000 to Dodou and bought a machine worth D53, 000 and changed everything in the car totaling nearly 100,000 and this change the entire machine in the car.

The case was adjourned by presiding Magistrate SB Joof to April 30, 2019.

the statement  of offence Conspiracy to Commit a Felony Contrary to Section 368 of the Criminal code cap 10:01 vol.lll revised laws of the of the Gambia 2009.

According to the Particulars of offence Dodou Camara and Aja Sidibeh for that you did on or about the 27th day of July 2018, at Kanifing layout in the Kanifing municipality of the republic of the Gambia, you conspired amongst yourselves with the intent to commit a felony therein with stealing and thereby committed an offence.

Statement of offence on count two Stealing motor vehicle contrary to Section 255 A of the Criminal Code cap 10:01 Vol lll revised laws of the Gambia 2009.

According to the particulars of offence Dodou Camara and Aja Sidibeh for that you did on or about 27th day of July 2018, at Kanifing layout in the Kanifing Municipality of the Republic of the Gambia they stole a vehicle mark Benz 190 with registration No BJL 5376 D valued at D 120 .000 (one hundred and twenty thousand dalasi) being the property of one Ebou Touray thereby an offence dated this 14th day of February 2019.
