Saikou Ndow was on Tuesday appeared before the Kanifing Magistrate Court presided over by Magistrate SB Joof for allegedly assaulted Mariama Camara as he wilfully and unlawfully damaged her Samsung Galaxy phone value D15000 at Senegambia Bambo Hotel in Kanifing Municipal Council.
In her testimony, Mariama Camara (PW1) said she reported the matter at the Senegambia Police Post, where she made a statement which was recorded by Famara Kujabi on February 2019.
Saikou Ndow was charged on two counts for causing actual bodily harm contrary to section 228 of the criminal code cap 10 Vol 111 laws of the Gambia 2009 and wilfully damage to property contrary to section 312 of the criminal code 10 Vol 111 laws of the Gambia 2009.’
According to the particulars of the offense Saikou Ndow on February 2nd 2019 at Senegambia Bambo Hotel in Kanifing Municipality assaulted Mariama Camara on her face and all over her body causing the dislocation of her right leg thereby committed an offence.
Also, that the alleged accuse did on or about the 2nd of February 2019 at the Senegambia Bambo Hotel in the Kanifing municipality of the Republic of The Gambia, wilfully and unlawfully damage Samsung galaxy note 4 value at D15,000 the property of Mariama Camara there by committed an offence.
Sgt 2717 Jallow represented the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Mr. Ndow was represented by a counsel.
The case was adjourned to 9th May, 2019 at 10am for hearing.
