Enterprise Life Assurance Company Limited on Tuesday paid a cheque amounting to one hundred thousands, six hundreds and seventy one dalasi (D100,671 ) to the family of late Justice Buba Jawo who was a customer to the financial institution, held at the Attorney General Chamber in Banjul.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr. Bakary Sanneh, a senior staff of Enterprise Life Assurance Company said the live saving insurance of Justice Jawo had reached his family, noting Justice Jawo was a customer of the company and now remained silent some years ago.
“We are here to fulfil a undertaken. We are paying D100, 671 to the family of late Buba Jawo. Mostly many think that live insurance payment will take money away from them or their families because they don’t see the benefit immediately but this doesn’t take money from you,” he said.
He said live insurance will not take money from customers but it will assured them money in the time that he/she will need it especially during retirement when the person is not working and want to maintain his\ her better survival.
According to him, the institution is presenting the live insurance to Mr. Jawo’s family through his wife Fatou Bah revealing that the late Jawo was paying D500 to three insurance policies to the institution namely, live time plan, child educational plan and another child educational plan.
He explained that initially Mr. Jawo was contributing a live plan at an amount of D60, 000 in case when he is dead his family will benefit from the live plan, adding “the payment started in January 2013 and since he started the deposit he paid D36, 928.
He further disclosed that during the transaction Mr. Jawo appointed his wife as trusty and his children as the beneficial policy namely, Karamo Jawo, Ousman Jawo, Ismail Jawo and Binta Jawo, saying that they are the beneficial of their father money in the first policy.
