Some members of the community of Farafenni in the North Bank Region of The Gambia has acknowledged and praised Al-Khair Foundation for its generosity in provision of food items for their Ramadan gift.
The UK based organisation Al- Khair Foundation over the weekend presented some colossal valuable food items through its implementing partner Hear Women-The Gambia.
The donated food items was presented to fifty families in Farafenni include rice, sugar, oil, milk, tea and dates.
Speaking at the presentation, Madam Susan Jatta, Hear Women-The Gambia, National Co-ordinator said the donation is the courtesy of their sole funder Al-Khair Foundation and implemented by Hear Women-The Gambia as part of their generosity to share with the needy in society.
She commended Al-Khair Foundation for funding and expressed words of appreciation to Hear Women team in the Gambia for being in the forefront in implementing the food distribution task appropriately.
Madam Jatta stated that: “This intervention is timely and it will go a long way in supporting the beneficiaries in fulfilling their fast breaking during the holy month of Ramadan.”
She further thanked the Al-Khair Foundation for their support and benevolence, adding that they have serves as their benefactors’ right from inception and so far this, they appreciate the collaboration and assistance throughout. Mr. Sainey Dibba who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries said the donation came at a right moment, adding that it will help the beneficiaries greatly.
He cited that among the people who received the gifts were children, widowers and the elderly whilst underscoring the significance the donated food items will assist the people of Farafenni.
He also thanked Al-Khair Foundation for their generosity and kindness to share with the less privilege.
Beneficiaries hailed the gesture and referred to it as such a gift will help them in no small measures in meeting their daily basic need of food, especially in the holy month of Ramadan.
Dam Tambedou, Arabic Teacher hailed the efforts of Al-Khair Foundation and Hear Women for supporting them.
Sally Touray said the food items donated to her will help her enormously in meeting her daily basic needs. She noted:, “Am happy that you comes to my aid at this crucial times when I needed this items most.”
Ndey Faye, a beneficiary said supporting a person who fast in the month of Ramadan is a great initiative.

Justice and Attorney General Chambers is resolves to promoting awareness creation in a bid to empower the girl-child and the women who mostly are at disadvantage in society.
