GCCI Boss challenge youths to take ownership of business companies

Edrissa Mass Jobe, President of Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI)   has challenged the young people of this country to take ownership of businesses and be in forefront of managing business companies in the country.

He told The Voice at   his office ATLAS Energy Company along Jeshwang high recently.

Jobe,  is one of the leading business development oriented Gambian investor whose name will continue to linger in the history book of both in the Gambia and outside the world.

Mr. Jobe has been very active in bringing foreign investors to the Gambia with the aim to reduce the rate on unemployment through creation and support the young people of this country engage into a productive job.

He has been playing a very vital role in the private sector of this country by introducing many companies and employ thousands of young people into his business for example like Farato Hatchery poultry farm , Atlas Energy Company just to name a few.

He also advised the young people of this country in particular to take business seriously specially during their youthful age,  adding that  it is at that young age period that the young people can able to do a lot of development program and well manage business companies.

He explained  that the issues of youthful age in managing business companies is key in the sense that you have all the energy and the potential to run and manage the business unlike old age people.

The GCCI President also cited at his business company Atlas Energy Company all the managers and the managing Director are at the age of twenty to twenty five.

According to GCCI boss this is some of the issues that the business owners should encourage and employ young people to run their business companies in this country.

“We also need to encourage the youths to take the lead in national development, but also the youth should show high  commitment to take ownership of  managing  business companies in this country.

Mr. Jobe cited that the youths are the screen of the society; therefore, “it is important that they are placed in the forefront of managing our business companies.

He further explained that with all his travelling experience all over the world, meeting with business people, it is the young people that are in charge of running and managing their companies in anywhere in the world.

He recommended it to be replicated to the Gambian business companies whereby the elders will retire and allow the young one to run the business companies.

Jobe urged the young people to come and take over the GCCI Chamber, “Saying that the chamber is meant for the young people who have the potential to run business”.

“As youth participation in running and managing business companies should be among our top agenda in this country and there is no way we can make meaningful development without Youth involvement,” he added.

He advised the business companies owners, government and civil society organization to value the role of the young people and the impact that the can make to transform our society.
