“We need a Gambia’s society that is discipline, free from corruption,” Ousainou Darboe, leader of United Democratic Party, said at a political rally in Brufut Village, Kombo North West Coast Region on Saturday.
Former Vice President also said: “We can create millionaires like other countries have done but we did not and what we need is a society that is discipline, a society that is free from corruption”.
Addressing thousands of UDP supporters he said a strong world that the Gambia need to run by people who are not depending on government positions for a good life.
“We have to fight corruption at all levels and we should not live by lip service. We should live by examples. We should be modest in our living and be content with what we have,” former foreign affair’s minister Darboe told UDP supporters.
He added: “Gambia should be run by people who can live through their own means and through their own hard work, not through a position.”
He also said: “What we are seeing now is that people are earning a good living through their position.”
