A book ‘HAKILO’ in a Mandinka language meaning The Brain or Mind, Yusupha Jaiteh, was launched on 20 June 2019, at Supreme Islamic Council head office in Kanifing.
In his presentation, Jaiteh said the book HAKILO is to talk to African leaders, rich men and youths of Africa, in raising awareness on the dangers of irregular migration.
According to him, he made a research for 9 years on illegal migration, noting that the reason for the youth leaving their country is lack up jobs and low pay.
He said during his research he discovered that an African need to be pay $1,100 salary every month and to realized this agriculture need to be supported by Africa as the main income for development.
He pointed out this can also be realized with the help of African investor or the rich men, saying that this is the reason the books to address to African investors and also calling on them to support agriculture.
Jaiteh said calls on business men and also Gambians in the Diaspora to invest in their country, and open businesses in Africa so that African youths can work and earn good income wages.
He urged people to engage in to agriculture because it’s the only way out for the country to move forward because farming makes the country go toward without farming the country become dull.
He said building plenty houses in a country will only beautify the country but if rich men of the country engaged the youths in garden of crops such as onions, rice and others that will develop country.
Muhammed Lamin Touray, President Supreme Islamic Council said the messages in the book is very important as many of the youth left the country for greener pasture in Europe, thinking that all is rosy in Europe.
He commended Jaiteh’s for the good work he is doing in educating the masses on the solutions and problems facing the youths.
Other speakers include Sheikh Kebbu Cham, Dr Baba Ceesay, Dr. Mbye Kah and Sheikh Landang Gassama, all acknowledges Yusupha to keep up the positive way in reaching out to his goal.
