Barrow Youth for National Development (PBYND), Saturday commissioned 228 motor bikes at the Youth monument at Westfield. Some of the bikes were given to members to facilitate the conduction of the movement’s duties.
Representative of the Movement’s board of directors, Alkali Conteh said they are committed to compliment government efforts by bringing development to needy communities. “PBYND, in the past 10 months had registered a lot of development across the nation. We provided 16 milling machines to citizens in which about 8, 000 women are benefiting from this aid”.
Mr. Conteh said they have also fenced 18 horticultural gardens, in which about 18, 000 people are benefiting; 8 sanitary toilets in public places, two mosques and 8 boreholes that impacted almost 16, 000 lives.
According to him, 87, 000 people have benefited from projects implemented by the Movement and promised that more people will benefit in future.
Kebba Lang Fofana, secretary general of the Movement said they are committed to contribute their part in national development. “We are a peaceful organisation and I must thank President Barrow for accepting us to use his name.”
Special guest, Aja Maimuna Ceesay said the motorbikes will facilitate easy execution of the Movement’s activities, including political matters. “We are giving this motorbikes to you for you to use them to facilitate the affairs of the organisation. I urge you to take good care of them so that they can serve their purpose.”
Sanusey Taal, vice president of the Movement said because of the love they have for the country, they are always in the mission of assisting Gambians.
He promised that more development will be coming, while reiterating that nobody can separate the Barrow fan club and the PBYND.
