Nyodema Gambia Foundation of Holland recently donated medicine and other essentials materials to Saaba community clinic at a ceremony held in Saaba North Bank Region.
The donation of medicine, baby beds, bandages and sponge aims to strengthen the community health care services.
The Foundation contributed immensely to the construction of admission and maternity block of the clinic meant to help upgrade the service delivering system of clinic.
Presenting the drugs and other health materials, Abdou Sise National Coordinator of Nyodema Gambia Foundation said the foundation has attached great important of partnering with the community of Saaba in strengthening health care.
He noted that the ambulance donated to the clinic continue to facilitate referral of patients to Kerewan health major centre and Farafenni general hospital.
Sise said the drugs presentation is worth over D35, 000 and it aims supplement existing drugs supplied to the clinic by the foundation.
He noted that the supply of the drugs was timely and coming at the raining season, as disease or infections are high during the season.
He reiterated of the foundation unflinching support to strengthen health care services.
Muhamed Mendy station nurse at the clinic commended the donors for their tireless support to the community, noting that the move would complement Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in providing quality health care services.
He assured of proper utilization of donated drugs and other materials.
He launched an appealed for rehabilitation of maternity ward, as the facility serves number of villages within the catchment areas. The facility registered an increase on the number of patients seen per day.
Fa Nyama Sighateh alkalo of Saaba thanked Abdou Sise for facilitating the linkage and acknowledged the enormous support the community enjoys from the foundation. He assured of the people fullest support.
Lamin Saho representative of Village Development Committee echoed similar sentiment and said the VDC remain vigilant to support the clinic on the implementation of daily activities.
