The Global Youth Innovation Network (GYIN) Gambia Chapter on Monday, 15th July, 2019, welcomed the second batch of interns from the Global Education Network of Young Europeans (GLEN).
This initiative which began last year, is part of GYIN Gambia’s efforts in global partnership in the fields of youth development. GLEN interns mainly students and young experts in various fields offer technical backstop to GYIN Gambia for a period of three months between July – September, 2019.
In his welcoming remarks, GYIN Gambia Executive Director Mamadou Edrisa Njie thanked GLEN for recognising his office as a partner in the exchange programme. The posting of three interns, he said will increase the strength of GYIN Gambia in its efforts to add value to the lives of young people especially in rural Gambia with special attention on entrepreneurship ecosystem.
He recalled that the partnership between GLEN and GYIN Gambia began in 2018 which followed the deployment of two interns in the names of Paulina Kowalke from Poland and Tim Tolle from Germany.
“This programme gives our interns memorable experiences in interacting with different communities in all GYIN intervention sites in the country”, he said.
About The Intern
Deborah Rammrath is German who is currently pursuing her Masters of Science in International Business Administration at the University of Vienna in Austria.
Her specialised areas include International Management, Marketing, and Cultural Studies of Africa.
In terms of experience, Deborah served as Account Manager of the Touch Media International in Egypt in 2018. In 2016, she was intern in the Communication and Visibility Unit of the European Union Office in Egypt.
Deborah had earlier experience as student trainee in the International Research and Recruiting Deperter in her country, German in 2014.
Rebeka Anna Sze’l is a personate youth worker with over five years of experience. She Hungarian and currently the Regional Leader of Mathias Corvinus Collegium-Foundation Tihanyi with a program to support the outstanding children in the Carpathian Basin in her country.
Rebeka, after studying Nonprofit management at the Atalanta Education Centre in 2015, she proceeded to the Faculty of pedagogy at Neumann Janos University for studies in Social and Youth Work.
Beata Rajeckaite comes from Lithuania. She holds Bachelors degree in Political Science and Development from Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania. Her fields cover Political theories, International relations, Development strategies and tendencies.
Rajeckaite worked as Project Manager at Turing School in Vilnius, and as Educator at GAIA International, in Kosovo.
Currently, she is Teacher of Economics and Entrepreneurship at Vilnius Private Gymnasium in Lithuania.
