CRR RED 5 award certificates to teachers and managers in Lower and Upper Basic Schools

The Regional Education Directorate (RED) of Region 5 recently organized the first ever historic award certificate ceremony for best teachers, school managers and cleaners for their outstanding contribution to school development and performance.

The event was held at the education directorate conference hall in Janjanbureh of Central River Region.

Malick Jammeh chairman steering committee of the award, noted that the initiative came following a visit by the director to the schools who proposed that there is need to come up with motivational package for outstanding teachers, managers and cleaners in recognition of their services.

He further said that the process was transparent and it promotes all inclusive participation of cluster monitors, head teachers to identified potential teachers, school managers, garden masters and cleaners for scrutiny and proper appraisal using some members of technical advisory committee (TAC).

The award committee consists of veteran public servant, religious leaders; retire teachers and chairman of Janjanbureh Area Council.  The awardees includes:- Best cleaner, garden masters, female and male classroom, punctual teachers, best female and male managers.

The committee hailed the efforts of teachers and managers for their immense efforts to improve teaching and learning environment for education.

Jammeh reiterated that teachers should be more innovative through research to boost academic performance.

He urged teachers not be fear to fail, as it is a challenge and it will help them to come up with innovation ideas to enhance productivity.

Paul K Mendy Regional Education Director for Region 5 underscored that the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education attaches great important to the attainment of quality education.

He noted that it is important to award teachers, managers, garden masters and cleaners and meant to motivate and encourage others to redouble their efforts.

The director noted that there is need for serious commitment and courage to showcase and ensure the region performs immensely on both National Assessment Test (NAT) and WAEC.

He acknowledges the enormous contribution of teachers to the country human resource development, noting that teachers should cherish student performance at all levels.

Omar Sey Deputy Governor CRR reiterated their resolved that the region registered success at all levels, noting that education is fundamental to the country quest of attaining quality teaching and learning.

He hailed the enormous contribution and commended organizers for  coming up  with the  first ever regional teachers and managers awards  to boost motivation.
