Party leader and secretary general of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) Papa Njie, has called on everyone in The Gambia with irrespective of their religion or other persuasion to continue praying for peace and tolerance.
He made this call in his Eid message as people of The Gambia joined rest of the Islamic Ummah across the world to celebrate Eid-el-Adha popular known as Tobaski.
According to his Eid-el-Adha message which read
“In observance of the Holy feast of Eid-El-Adha, commonly known as Tobaski, my message is one of prayers and sincere welfare wishes to everyone regardless of religion or other persuasion. Let us pray for continued Peace and tolerance, and make this Eid-el-Adha a moment of reflection over the past, while appreciating the present and praying for better future.
“Our Gambian society is blessed with highly cherished values of caring and sharing as demonstrated during our social events. We are one family, united in very special ways by virtue of our small population which, in a way, is also blessing and an advantage.”
Wishing everyone happy Eid Mubarak full of peace, tolerance and stability, He expressed that “as leader of People’s Progressive Party (PPP), I am also a happy member of the Gambia big family. Politics apart, we owe it to each other to reach out on occasions like this.”
