The West Africa China Unification Organization with a branch in Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Niger Chad and other part of the sub-region, Saturday, launched its Banjul, The Gambia office.
The organization with over three decades of promoting trade between China and West Africa supports small business and promotes local products and creates job opportunity for its host country.
The organization main aim in The Gambia is to organize and bring all Chinese in The Gambia together and also educate them on how to work with the people and government of The Gambia.
Chief Dr. Jacob Wood, acting chairman West Africa China Unification Organization, described China and Gambia relation as a move in the right direction. He said working together in the areas trade and development will help to strengthen the two countries.
Born in Nigeria, Chief Wood stated that The Gambia is the home for all especially West Africa because of the peace the country enjoys. He revealed his organization’s plan which is to organize a big event that will promote China –Gambia trade.
He added that the organization will invite more Chinese investors to The Gambia so that they can invest in various areas especially in the production, noting that he and compatriots will like to introduce made in The Gambia.
“Our dream for The Gambia is more factories and more jobs creation for the youths because they are tomorrow’s leaders and with more companies there will be more development,” Wood noted. He was in the country with his managers from Senegal, Sierra Leone and while the launching in The Gambia was hosted by the Manager for the Gambia.
