Rapper-activist Alieu Cham popularly known as Killa Ace was yesterday granted a Police bail after three day in Police detention and the only condition attached is for him to report to the Police today.
Arrested on Saturday August 16 alongside dozen youths suspected to be the masterminded of the July 24 mass protests which saw hundreds of youth’s burning car tyres and also stormed the headquarters of police anti-crime unit in Bijilo.
Scores of angry youths during the protests went to the house of Gorgi Mboob, the commander of Anti-Crime Unit and set it on fire.
Yesterday, Team Gom sa Bopa, (Believe in yourself), a youth advocacy group which Killa Ace is the President said on their Face Book in the earlier hour of Monday morning his lawyer, Patrick Gomez spent at least half an hour trying to get access to see Killa Ace.
And he was denied bail at that time. But upon his returned in the afternoon Lawyer Gomez explained that when he arrived he did not receive any charge sheet for his client and that the Police refused to speak to him on the case.
“Killa Ace is now on bail and will report to Police tomorrow morning. Until then we have no idea if he was charged for willful damage of Anti-Crime Unit cheif Gorgi Mboob’s house or Bakoteh Police Station,” the group stated.
