Public Relation Officer (PRO) of The Gambia Police Force Superintendent Lamin Njie, has confirmed the arrest of two protocols officers at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and declined to reveal their names. He added the two officials are helping the police in their investigations.
Earlier, Saikou Ceesay the communication officer at the foreign affairs ministry told The Voice that the men were arrested on Friday and the third accused who is not also name was out of town.
He said the arrest on Friday is in connection with fraudulently helping individuals to hold Gambian diplomatic passport. Asked how was they arrested? “I don’t ready know but the office was informed and that is the only thing I can tell and statement will be issue,” Ceesay told the The Voice.
