Kerewan Swear In 22nd Alkalo Through Traditional Lineage System To Promote Traditoonal Adminstration

The Community of Baddibou  Kerewan on Sunday swear in  Ousman Fatty as the 22nd alkalo of Kerewan in a  traditional colorful ceremony held in Kerewan North Bank Region.

The swearing ceremony was  graced by Governor Ebrima KS Dampha, Chief Fabala Fadia Kinteh, and Hon. Alagie Jawara National Assembly Member for Lower Baddibou, family members and other traditional leaders in the region.

Governor Ebrima KS Dampha hailed the community of Kerewan for their steadfastness in upholding to traditional methods of handing over of leadership in a peaceful and orderly manner.

He described the occasion as important as it demonstrated people commitment to the maintenance of peace and tradition.

New alkalo Ousman Fatty commended the community for the trust and confidence bestowed on him to serve the community in various capacities in advancing development objectives.

He noted that his appointment as 22nd alkalo strengthen family lineage and respect to peaceful handing over of power.

Alkalo Fatty urged people of Kerewan to unite and support the development of their community that would create employment opportunities for youths and women.

He also urged all hands should be on deck to support President Adama Barrow and government on the implementation of programs and policy.

Other speakers includes Chief Fabala Fadia Kinteh of Lower Baddibou who  reiterated that as district authority  principal roles is to discharge responsibility in a fair and transparent manner to promote all inclusive participation in national development.

The occasion highly attended by different worth of life and punctuated by display of traditional and cultural activities.
