Scout Association holds AGM

Scout Association of the Gambia, recently held its annual general meeting (AGM) at NANA conference hall.

The forum brought government officials namely, Independent Electoral Commission   Chairman, Deputy Permanent Secretary Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and Deputy Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The AGM was meant to review the organization constitution and present its financial statement and elect new executive that will run the affair of the association for the next three years.

In his opening remarks, Adama Jimba jobe deputy permanent secretary MOBSE commended the association for organizing the forum, noting that most members of Scout association are from the younger generation

According to her, the Gambia of today is a cross cut road, politically, economically and socially, adding  any movement or  organization that is out  to help train or know , and to mark good values  that can help to consolidate  the cohesion’s   that  is needed  in t  society with discipline and respect is supported.

Jobe further commended the   Scout for their firm commitment to nurture the younger generation to enable them to take the mantle of leadership in the country, saying that “we need you to respect, we need you for discipline.”

“We need role model youth in this country who will take destiny of this country without discipline in society and with respect for elders,” he noted.

IEC chairman Mamour Alieu Njie, advised members of the association, noting Scout is always Scot stand   for high discipline in our society.

He also commended association   and urged the executive and members to continue the good work and respect each other view to have a better enlighten society.
