The government of Gambia has declared six businessmen of Lebanese, Romanian and Swiss origin personae non gratae for aiding and abetting ex-president Yahya Jammeh to steal and defraud millions of dalasis and dollars belonging to the West African nation.
According to a government report , Mr. Muhamed Bazzi and Ali Yussef Sharara both Lebanese, Nicolai Buzianu and Dracos Buzianu both Romanian nationals and Illija Reymond and Martin Keller, both Swiss nationals were declared undesirable persons following a financial commission report published by government on Friday
They were indicted by the report for operating clandestine business ventures with Yahya Jammeh thus inflicting heavy financial losses to the Republic of The Gambia.
The six businessmen reportedly paid close to $200 million dollars bribe to the accounts of ex-president Jammeh.
The Gambia government also ordered the six foreigners to return all monies owed to Gambia or risk losing all their assets, properties and businesses in the country.
Muhamed Bazzi, Ali Yussef Sharara, Nicolai Buzianu, Dracos Buzianu, Illija Reymond and Martin Keller jointly owned more than 20 businesses in the Gambia.
