Kerewan Health Centre boosted with support from Kerewan One Family in the diaspora

Kerewan One Family in the Diaspora on Saturday handed over medical items and drugs to Kerewan Minor Health Centre at a ceremony held at health centre in Kerewan North Bank Region.  The support is meant  to strengthen health care services and ensure a healthy population.

Speaking at the ceremony Njundu Fatty Father of Kerewan One Family, said the support to health sector is key to the members as it served as giving back in strengthening health care for all.

He said donated drugs worth over D300, 000   and calls on citizen’s   support to bring about positive development, citing the support to Kerewan Arabic School.

Ousman Fatty  alkalo  and who double as adviser to  Kerewan One Family commended the citizens of Kerewan residing in Europe and America for their foresight and commitment to the development of the community.

He  noted that the support to health, education and environment would contribute to enhance human capital  and boost production and productivity.

Abdoulie Jarju Acting Regional Health Director for Farafenni expressed delight on high level of community participation to the health sector.  He disclosed  that  Ministry of Health had plan to upgrade Kerewan to Major Health Centre, all aims to ensure efficient health care services.  He called on the staff to take inventory of all items donated to the health center.

Lamin Jawara Permanent Secretary at PMO called for unity and togetherness to build infrastructure, noting that  the town can be develop to the fullest.

He recalled that some time last year a   discussed on wide range of developmental issues to forged unity and strength was held..

Chief Fabala Fadia Kinteh of Lower Baddibou and chairperson of Catchment Area Committee calls for  more support from  the  peoples of Lower Baddibou and hailed Lang Conteh of Petro Gas for the construction of standard children ward and the gesture demonstrated by one family by contributing  in improving health of people’s.

Mamadi Jawara Officer in Charge hailed the family for the support and calls for more support to expand labor ward and increase beds and construction of more staff quarter for staff to enable them respond to patients on time.

He commended  the people of Kerewan for taking ownership of the health facility, noting that the facility serve peoples in far and wide.

Binta Ceesay a member of Kerewan One Family noted that the materials donated will help women during and after delivery. She said improving health sector means contributing to safe women lives.
